Rooted in Ghana’s Formal Gold Sector
GOLD IN GHANA was established in 2015 to support the growing demand for traceable, export-compliant gold from Ghana’s licensed small-scale mining sector. Our founders brought field experience from early ASM formalization efforts under the Minerals Commission. Since then, we’ve grown by focusing on what matters: on-ground verification, independent assay coordination, and full documentation integritynever volume for its own sake.
Founded in Accra
GOLD IN GHANA launched to formalize direct sourcing from licensed small-scale producers under Ghana’s Minerals Commission framework. Initial operations focused on Obuasi and Prestea, with on-site verification and assay coordination as core services.
Expanded Field Verification Network
We added dedicated teams in the Western Region and partnered with SGS Accra for independent fire assay. This enabled full chain-of-custody tracking and compliance with LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance.
Launched Export Documentation Hub
A centralized documentation unit was established in Tema to streamline licensing, customs clearance, and buyer file preparation, reducing average export lead time from 14 to 7 days.
Refinery-Ready Packaging Standard Adopted
In partnership with major buyers, we implemented standardized tamper-evident packaging and digital batch tagging now used across all shipments to Dubai, Shanghai, and Zurich.
